Hatch & Kirk offers our customers innovative and focused training on the construction, use, repair and maintenance of EMD engines. Our 3-day training course combines classroom and hands-on experiences tailored for each participant. Designed as a refresher for the experienced mechanic or an intensive introduction for the new mechanic, this course has received rave reviews from the over 200 participants that have attended over the past two years. While the training is oriented toward the mechanic, it also adds value to purchasing departments who strive to learn more about the critical parts they procure on a daily basis.
Topics covered in the class include an overview and history of the EMD engine, the interaction of fuel, cooling and oil systems, basic installation and inspection of power packs, rings, bearings, pumps, blowers and turbos. Engine modifications and updates are also covered in detail. Every class attendee will gain hours of hands-on experience that will be immediately useful in conducting their mechanical duties.
In addition to the class and hands-on training each participant will receive a reference binder filled with thousands of pages of technical information across a variety of critical subjects related to EMD engines that will be useful to them in their daily work. Also, each participant receives a class completion certificate that can be used for meeting technical training requirements of their organizations.
The class is held in our Alton Illinois Training Center and can be conducted in English or Spanish. We also have the ability to offer the training at our customer location as requested.
