Hatch & Kirk remanufactured EMD engines are in use worldwide in some of the most demanding rail, marine, and stationary applications. Customers can order our remanufactured engines on a unit exchange, repair, and return basis or outright if no core return is possible.
Engine cores are completely disassembled, block and pans inspected, line bore assessed and checked for cracks. We remanufacture all of the components parts using Genuine H&K parts, such as our renowned low oil consumption new or remanufactured power assemblies, pumps, blowers or turbochargers, cranks, injectors, governors, and more! Further, if any customer components are found out of specification, we maintain a large core pool for replacement that are offered at the most competitive cost.
Our engines are remanufactured in Alton, Illinois, for easy shipping across the US as well as access to waterways and ports. Each engine is designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications. All engines are load-tested on our dyno for at least 8 hours. Once complete, H&K engines are carefully packaged and preserved with custom covers to assure safe transit. Additionally, Hatch & Kirk mobile services are available offering engine removal and replacement engine installation and start-up.
